One of the most exciting activities of the Fewa Taal is a visit to the Barahi temple, a two storied structure situated on an island almost in the middle of the lake. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Barahi, a boar manifestation of Goddess Ajima, representing the divine female force – Shakti.
Boats can be hired to sail across the lake to the temple. Devotees can be seen ferrying male animals and fowls for sacrificial rituals, especially on Saturdays.
It can be quite an experience and sight for those who long to witness the age old Hindu culture and tradition – of worshipping deities through such blood-letting rituals..
