Around 2 km south-west of Pokhara airport, on the highway to Tansen, Butwal, lies Davis waterfall. Locally known as Patale Chhango – meaning the Hell’s Fall, it acquired its name ‘Davis Fall’ through a modern legend that says – that a skinny foreigner named Davis while taking a dip in the Pardi Khola (river), was swept into the underground passage beneath the fall, when the floodgates of the dam were opened. He could not be traced and was never seen again!
