Fewa Lake or Fewa Taal

Fewa Lake or Fewa Taal being the second largest lake of Nepal, is one of the main attractions and most important landmarks of Pokhara. Roughly measuring up to 1.5 km by 4 km and about 47 meters deep Fewa Taal spreads across in lustrous grandeur with fish-tailed summit of Machhapuchhre (6,993m) rising grandly on the background! On a clear day one can see the sparkling reflection of the summit on the lake, creating a magnificent double image so magical that it seems almost surreal! Barahi Temple

One of the most exciting activities of the Fewa Taal is a visit to the Barahi temple, a two storied structure situated on an island almost in the middle of the lake. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Barahi, a boar manifestation of Goddess Ajima, representing the divine female force – Shakti. Boats can be hired to sail across the lake to the temple. Devotees can be seen ferrying male animals and fowls for sacrificial rituals, especially on Saturdays. World Peace Pagoda

Situated on top of a hill of a southern shore of Phewa lake, Peace Pagoda is an impressive and massive Buddhist Stupa. Davis Fall

Around 2 km south-west of Pokhara airport, on the highway to Tansen, Butwal, lies Davis waterfall. Locally known as Patale Chhango – meaning the Hell’s Fall, it acquired its name ‘Davis Fall’ through a modern legend that says – that a skinny foreigner named Davis while taking a dip in the Pardi Khola (river), was swept into the underground passage beneath the fall, when the floodgates of the dam were opened. Sarangkot
